I've looked through prior posts that say it's OK to replace the stock 140/80-15 rear tire with a more common 140/90-15. However, given that this sometimes causes clearance problems, especially with saddlebag brackets, would it be OK to replace the stock tire with a more common smaller size of 130/90-15?
This would be approximately the same diameter as the original, but 10mm narrower, so it shouldn't rub on anything. Question is, would the narrower tire compromise performance or safety to any noticeable degree??? Any opinions appreciated, thanks!
